This app is compatible with the latest version of Xcode and SwiftUI. The final screenshot above shows the system alert powered by AlarmKit, introduced in iOS 26. This package includes two complete Xcode projects: one version supports Xcode 15+ and uses local notifications when the timer completes, while the other version requires Xcode 26+ and iOS 26+, and uses the AlarmKit framework for native, full-screen system alerts. You can choose to support only iOS 26+ devices with AlarmKit, or use the other version for broader compatibility with older iOS versions and no AlarmKit support. All meat and food items are stored in a local JSON file, which you can customize freely. All images are also bundled locally in the app.
*** WHAT DO I NEED TO GET STARTED ***
You will need a Mac computer with Xcode 15+. This app requires iOS 16+. All app templates on this website are for iPhones without iPad support. An AdMob account is necessary if you want to show ads in the app. We provide you with some basic PDF documentation on how to replace the AdMob Interstitial Ad identifiers, and how to replace the in-app purchase product identifier. If you want to support the AlarmKit feature, presented in the last screenshot, you will need Xcode 26 and iOS 26.

- In the main flow, users browse meat options organized by category, displayed as visually rich tiles.
- Tapping on a meat item opens a detail view where users can select thickness, view grilling instructions, and start a timer.
- When a timer is started, it’s saved and tracked in the Timers tab, with real-time countdowns and alerts.
- Users can mark meat items as favorites to quickly access them later in the Favorites tab.
- A custom timer picker is also available for manual time entry before starting the grill timer.
- System notifications are sent when the timer completes; on iOS 26+, a separate version uses AlarmKit for full-screen, system-managed alerts. No local notifications are sent for iOS 26+ project.
- All meat data is stored in a customizable local JSON file, and images are bundled within the app.
- A one-time in-app purchase unlocks premium meat categories and removes ads, giving users full access while increasing monetization.
- In-App Purchases are handled via a private framework. This framework doesn't support subscriptions. You can use this framework for any other games/apps you want to add in-app purchases.
